Pahaska Group Campground

Information
The Pahaska Group campground is within the Cardinal River Campground. West Fraser built this campground in 2020 with the Alexis Nakota Sioux Nation’s Cardinal River Reserve to strengthen relations and to discourage random camping on their land. The campground offers beautiful views of mountains and meadows and allows ATV/OHV use. This group site has a cabin with a wood stove which is situated on the edge of a meadow along with a group firepit. There are beautiful views of Redcap Mountain. Group usage is by reservation only.
Activities
There are numerous ATV trails in the area that are very popular. There is also fishing for cutthroat and bull trout in the Cardinal River.
How to Get Here
There are different ways to get to the Cardinal River Campground:
- From Hinton, take the Robb Haul Road; then at kilometre marker 33, turn right onto Pembina River Road. At approximately kilometre marker 98, turn right onto the Cardinal River Road (Grave Flats). The campground is in approximately 8 km down this road and on the left.
- From Edson, take Highway 16 to Highway 47 for around 100 km (which turns into Highway 734). Turn right onto the Cardinal River Road; the campground is about 40 km away. The legal location is (52.8807, -117.02271).

Fees
$185/night plus there is a $10 reservation fee
