West Fraser’s oriented strand board (OSB) products are a strong, durable choice for residential and commercial building construction, along with other industrial uses. Made from cross-oriented layers of wood that may not otherwise have commercial value, our OSB products make the most of our forest resources.

Applications & Benefits

Value-added structural wall and roof sheathing, such as our roofing product Solarbord® Radiant Barrier, provides a strong, durable OSB product while also stopping up to 97% of the sun’s radiant heat for a cooler, energy-efficient home.

For wall construction, our three brands of long-length OSB sheathing—TallWall®, Windstorm® and QuakeZone®—offer strong, enhanced wind and earthquake-resistant construction. And for both residential wall and roof sheathing and other commercial uses, our SterlingOSB Zero® OSB3 is a precision-engineered OSB panel for structural use in the UK and select European markets.
Tongue & groove decking and sub-flooring, such as our Durastrand® pointSIX®, features our patented tapered design to combat edge swell when exposed to moisture.

As well, our SterlingOSB® ZeroT&G is a precision-engineered tongued and grooved OSB panel for use in flat roof decking and flooring applications in the UK and select European markets.
Large-scale panelized flat roof systems, such as our TruDeck®, for large-scale warehouse construction that require superior perpendicular flat bending stiffness.
Industrial applications and custom manufacturing that meet exact specifications, such as our line of Engineered Strand Products® (ESP) for use in furniture fabrication, RV manufacturing, enclosed trailer systems and other commercial uses.

In the UK and select European markets, our SterlingOSB® Zero PrimedPlus panel is pre-painted with a UV coating and sealed edges, making it well-suited to the immediate application of custom graphics.
Built-in termite protection with select OSB products in North America is made available with Zinc Borate treatment.
