Information

The Kinky Lake Campground is located only three kilometres off of Highway 16 and very close to Jasper National Park. Many people use this campground as a base for day trips into Jasper. The campground campsites are very close together but suitable for both RVs and tents, with immediate access to Kinky Lake. There are four sites available for reservations and seven on a first-come, first-served basis.

Activities

Enjoy the scenic mountain views while fishing for eastern brook trout (non-motorized or electric-powered boats only) and/or hiking the non-maintained trails around the lake. This lake is also a very popular lake to ice fish in the winter.

How to Get Here

Kinky Lake Campground is found in Wildhorse Lake Provincial Recreation Area. From west end of Hinton travel west for approximately 24 kilometres of Highway 16 and then turn right (north) at the blue highway sign indicating the Wildhorse Lake Campground turnoff. Follow the gravel road for just under 3 kilometres until a road is encounter on the left (west) indicating the entrance to Wildhorse Lake Provincial Recreation Area. Follow this road a couple hundred metres and the turn-off to the Kinky Lake Campground which can be seen on the right.

$20/night. $10 reservation fee.
