The Fitzgerald mill has a history of strong safety performance and has been recordable-free for the past three years.

“We were really lucky when West Fraser purchased us in 2017, as every aspect of the West Fraser culture supports that our people are our greatest asset,” said Jerone Nails, General Manager, Fitzgerald sawmill. “Leadership is always challenging us as to how we can develop our teams, particularly around safety. This has led to our recent success and will challenge us going forward to not only maintain an injury-free work environment but to continuously improve in all aspects of our business. With the support of West Fraser’s leadership team along with Fitzgerald’s team, we are committed to achieving the highest possible standard.”

2023 was one of the best years we have seen in safety performance in West Fraser’s history, and we can all be proud of the part we played in achieving these results.
