West Fraser Helps Arkansas State University Three Rivers Receive $2.8 Million State Grant
West Fraser is proud of our partnerships with educational facilities such as Arkansas State University Three Rivers (ASUTR) to provide high-quality training to employees.

Thanks to collaboration with our U.S. HR Team, ASUTR received a $2.8 million Higher Industry Readiness through Educational Development (HIRED) grant from the State of Arkansas to expand its training facilities, which serves West Fraser’s Qualified Training Programs.
Camille Shatley, General Manager of U.S. HR Operations at West Fraser, worked with ASUTR on the Letter of Intent.
Our long-term partnership with ASUTR helps West Fraser attract and retain skilled employees in Arkansas. West Fraser is excited to see the improvements to the University’s infrastructure, which will enhance the already exceptional education ASUTR provides for West Fraser’s Qualified Training Program.

The ASUTR grant is part of $48 million awarded through the HIRED program to support workforce development efforts aligned with the Arkansas Workforce Strategy. The HIRED grants fund state and regional industry-driven partnerships and data-driven education and workforce training programs. They come from Arkansas Workforce Initiative grant funding and American Rescue Plan Act funds.
ASUTR will use the HIRED grant to renovate the existing building and purchase essential training equipment. The renovations to the building are expected to begin in January 2025, with an estimated completion in December 2025.
