Technical Department - Summer Student (4 Months)

Technical Department Summer Student (4 months)
The Technical Department Summer Student will be responsible for quality assurance testing as part of the plant's quality program. This position will be of interest to detail-oriented individuals seeking experience in the forestry/composite panel industry within the Technical Department.
You'll do :
- Daily collection and testing of MDF samples
- Analysis and communication of test results
- Collection and testing of raw material samples
- Assist with various daily technical tasks as required
- Transfer safety training documents onto a central computer-based retrieval system
You have:
- Enrolled in a degree or diploma program in wood sciences, forestry, chemistry, environmental sciences or engineering is preferred but not mandatory
- Knowledge of the wood composite industry would be considered an asset
- Excellent computer skills, specifically Microsoft Office (Excel and Word)
- High attention to detail
- Ability to work independently or in a team environment
- A keen, unwavering focus on safety procedures and protocols
Compensation Package:
- The hourly pay rate for this position may vary depending on experience, education and location.

Quesnel is located in the central interior of BC and has a relatively dry climate with warm summers. Quesnel services a population of approximately 30,000 people and is ideally suited for outdoor adventurers who would enjoy world-renowned fishing lakes and rivers, plus many other activities such as golfing, hiking, camping, and biking. Our mill and forest operations form an integral part of the community, providing economic stability to employees and families that live in the Quesnel areas.
