Stores Assistant (Part-Time)

West Fraser offers a range of exciting career opportunities for individuals seeking challenging and rewarding careers. Barwick OSB is currently recruiting for a Stores Assistant (Part-Time).

Reporting to the Materials Team Lead, the Stores Assistant will assist in the efficient operation of the warehouse, which includes receiving, inspecting, and ensuring that products are stored safely and efficiently.  Additionally, they may assist in conducting regular inventory counts, maintaining accurate records, and providing excellent customer service. Attention to detail, strong organizational skills, and the ability to operate warehouse equipment are essential for success in this role.  This is a part-time position (approximately 24 hours per week) that provides vacation coverage for full-time team members.

You'll do:

  •  Receives and processes incoming shipments, including loading/unloading material as required
  •  Uses mill inventory system (Ivara) to organize and maintain the inventory in the warehouse, including receiving & issuing materials, daily replenishment, invoicing, cycle counts, etc.
  •  Prepares orders and arranges with carriers for the shipment of materials, including packing and labelling
  •  Inventory counts as required
  •  Maintains a clean and safe working environment, including organizing the storeroom, warehouse, and surrounding area
  •  Communicates with vendors as required regarding orders, returns, etc.
  •  Operates warehouse equipment, such as forklifts and pallet jacks, daily
  •  Picking & kitting of material as required
  •  Works collaboratively with team members and provides excellent customer service

You have:

  •  Grade 12 Diploma
  •  Valid Ontario Class G driver’s license.
  •  High attention to detail
  •  Previous warehouse and/or parts management experience preferred
  •  Strong computer skills
  •  Experience with an inventory system or CMMS
  •  Excellent oral and written communication skills
  •  Strong interpersonal skills
  •  Able to work independently with minimal supervision
  •  Willingness to learn new processes and equipment operation

What We Offer:  

  • Competitive base salary with an annual bonus opportunity. The typical salary range for this position is $45,000-$54,000, may vary depending on location, education, and relevant experience.
