Shipping Technician

Position Description Reporting to the Shipping Supervisor, the Shipping Technician is responsible for performing assigned tasks in the Shipping department. This position supports production process improvements and the production teams with a strong emphasis on safety, quality and efficiency. * This is a fulltime Nightshift position* |

Responsibilities include but are not limited to: (main functions) Ø Safe operation of Fork Trucks. Ø Extensive knowledge of mill travel routes for shipping and production. Ø Housekeeping in the shipping end. Ø Communicate shipping issues to Shipping Supervisor. Ø Isolate non-conforming goods for rework. Ø Accurate unit identification. Ø Initial inbound sheets and bill of ladings of accurate number of units loaded and recordkeeping. Ø Complete shift paperwork on time. Ø Execute proper pattern loading for flatbed trailers, vans and railcars with approved packaging as required by mill loading standard. Ø Other duties as assigned.

Qualification(s) / Training Requirement(s) Ø Eligible to work in the United States Ø High School Diploma or GED Ø 1 year experience loading trucks and/or railcars is required. Ø Experience working a warehouse environment is helpful. |

Skills, Knowledge & Attitudes/Behavior Ø Ability to maintain all equipment in assigned areas. Ø Computer hardware knowledge or can be trained. Ø Ability to work independently. Ø Strong communication skills. |
