Senior Accountant Financial Reporting

Our Vancouver office is seeking an experienced professional Senior Accountant, Financial Reporting to join our Financial Reporting team. This role oversees the consolidation of financial results across a complex, multi-entity organization using Oracle EPM. You will own the consolidation database structure and ensure accuracy, consistency, and compliance across management, legal, statutory, and regulatory reporting—covering intercompany eliminations, foreign currency translation, and consolidation adjustments.

You will work closely with Corporate Accounting, FP&A, Treasury, IT, and Operating Accounting to support period-end close, structural changes, and system integrity. The team consolidates and analyzes financial data, ensures compliance with accounting policies, and drives process improvements that support timely, reliable reporting. Our multi-currency, multi-jurisdictional environment requires strong FX expertise; experience with complex consolidated cash flow statements is an asset.

We’re looking for a self-starter and strong communicator with a problem‑solving mindset, attention to detail, and a drive for continuous improvement.

You'll Do:

Financial Consolidation:

  • Lead end-to-end consolidation across multiple entities and reporting hierarchies
  • Ensure accurate ownership structures, eliminations, and FX translation
  • Support monthly/quarterly/annual close, including journal entries and variance analysis
  • Align legal, management, and external reporting structures
  • Maintain data integrity, auditability, and scalability of the consolidation model

Reporting Hierarchy Management:

  • Design and maintain legal, management, operational, and regulatory hierarchies
  • Manage entity/account rollups and alternate reporting views
  • Implement hierarchy changes driven by reorganizations, acquisitions, or reporting needs

Financial Reporting:

  • Prepare quarter-end and year-end working papers, reconciliations, and variance analysis
  • Prepare workpapers for equity compensation, consolidation files, cash flow proofs, and legal entity statements
  • Support ad hoc and special projects

Governance & Controls:

  • Enforce governance over hierarchy changes, entity setup, and master data
  • Document consolidation processes and system logic
  • Support SOX/internal control compliance and audit requests

Stakeholder Collaboration:

  • Liaise with Corporate Accounting, FP&A, Tax, Treasury, and Operations
  • Translate reporting needs into system and hierarchy designs
  • Train finance users on consolidation structures and reporting tools
  • Partner with IT on metadata governance, upgrades, and enhancements

You Will Have:

  • Professional accounting designation required
  • 5–8+ years in financial consolidation in a complex, multi-currency, multi-entity environment
  • Hands-on experience with consolidation tools (EPM FCCS, HFM, OneStream, SAP, Anaplan)
  • Experience with complex ownership models; Oracle EBS, JDE, and BI tools an asse
  • Strong understanding of consolidation principles (eliminations, FX, NCI, equity accounting)
  • Expertise in hierarchy design and multidimensional databases
  • Advanced Excel; experience with systems administration or metadata management
  • Strong documentation and process design skills
  • SOX/internal controls and automation experience considered assets
  • Highly analytical with strong attention to detail
  • Comfortable navigating ambiguity in complex structures
  • Strong communication skills with technical and non‑technical stakeholders
  • Ability to balance operational execution with long‑term design thinking

What We Offer:

  • Competitive base salary with an annual bonus opportunity. The typical salary range for this position is $90,000-$115,000, with variation based on location, education, and relevant experience.
  • Comprehensive benefits: including medical, dental, and vision coverage, pension and saving plans, life, disability, and accident insurance, vacation time, paid holidays and additional benefits to support your well-being.
