Production Worker
West Fraser offers a range of exciting career opportunities for individuals seeking challenging and rewarding careers. Our Laminated Veneer Lumber division, based near Rocky Mountain House, AB, is currently recruiting for a Production Worker position.
You'll Do:
You will work as part of a crew in a fast-paced industrial environment, operating a variety of specialized mill equipment. Attention to detail, teamwork, and a strong commitment to safety are essential.
You will work a variety of rotating shifts, including compressed work schedules ranging from 8 to 12 hours. Work weeks will generally range from 40 to 44 hours. The ability to work nights, weekends, and statutory holidays is required.
You will receive the training and support needed to succeed in the role. Working cooperatively with your fellow team members and supervisors will be an important part of your success.
Your work will include:
- Operating specialized equipment used to produce wood veneer from logs for the manufacture of laminated veneer lumber (LVL)
- Sorting, drying, and pressing veneer as part of the LVL manufacturing process
- Operating forklift trucks and other mill equipment
- Safely handling logs, veneer, and finished LVL products
- Monitoring equipment and processes and safely responding when the process is interrupted
- Performing light maintenance and clean-up duties
- Following all safety procedures and maintaining a safe work environment

You Have:
- A Grade 12 diploma or equivalent
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills
- Strong commitment to safety
- The desire to learn, grow and succeed
Industrial experience and post-secondary education would be considered an asset.
Compensation Package:
The hourly pay rate for this position may vary depending on experience, education, and location.
