Process Control Lead
Process Control Lead (PCL) will optimize operations to safely produce Quality OSB, within defined parameters, to meet or exceed daily production goals. The PCL will control the variables in process that are not fully automated, by troubleshooting and mitigating variation of machine and material.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Safety culture champion, deliver pre-shift safety topics
- Complete all Safety training programs on time, meet/exceed required safety participation
- Verify the fire suppression systems are functioning “in auto and running”
- Accountable to identify and report unsafe acts or conditions and to intervene when observing unsafe acts
- Provide input on safety improvements to the process
- Comply with all Company safety standards and protocols
- Adjust operating parameters within established QC control range
- Report quality and variability issues to supervisor
- Accountable to make decisions around maximizing throughput
- Understand and adjust the variables that impact the process – read trends, interpret data, draw correlations
- Monitor/troubleshoot equipment/process, make appropriate adjustments to maximize throughput
- Work with supervisor to direct/coordinate the activities of team members to maximize throughput
- Engage and work with maintenance to address mechanical/electrical issues that are negatively impacting throughput until issue is resolved
- Communicate issues that are negatively impacting throughput to supervisor, area managers and area engineers
- Anticipate flow changes, making and communicating adjustments, and planning the sequence of events to maximize efficiency during upset conditions
- Gather information for Root Cause Analysis investigations on shift for failures negatively impacting throughput
- Participate in Management of Change process as necessary – document adjustments, changes, deviations from procedure around process/equipment
- Maintain quality standards that exceed customer expectations
- Assist Supervisor in developing Team Members in training and onboarding
- Recommend resource allocation to Supervisor to ensure that the correct team members are assigned to correct task/role to maximize throughput
- Complete Safety, Quality, Environmental and Production paperwork and recordkeeping
- Attend team meetings and regular training sessions
- Other duties as assigned
Qualifications
- Eligible to legally work in the United States
- High School diploma or equivalent education
- Willing and able to work a 12-hour rotating schedule which will include nights, weekends and holidays
- Ability to work as part of a team and deliver value to the team
- Willingness and ability to cross-train to learn new jobs and skills
- At least Level 3 in the PFS program
- Good knowledge of the production process
- Strong communication skills
- Ability to handle stress
- Strong leadership capabilities
- Consistent, predictable attendance
