Planning Supervisor

You'll Do:

  • Performing timber reconnaissance
  • Designing roads and cut blocks
  • Administrating and supervising contracts (layout, cruising, and site assessments)
  • Liaising with the Government and Indigenous Peoples
  • Consulting stakeholders
  • Incorporating social and cultural values into harvest area designs
  • Preparing and submitting appraisals and cutting/road permit applications
  • Developing Site Plans

You have:

  • A degree or diploma in forestry, along with registration or eligibility for registration with Forest Professionals BC.
  • Relevant experience in planning activities such as cruising, block layout, and site plan preparation is preferred.
  • Strong interpersonal, analytical, and organizational skills.
  • A self-motivated attitude with the ability to work both independently and collaboratively within a team environment.
  • Familiarity with ArcGIS and information management systems would be considered an asset.
  • Knowledge of the appraisal system and timber cruising processes would be considered an asset.
  • A current class 5 driver’s licence.

What We Offer:

  • Competitive base salary with an annual bonus opportunity. The typical salary range for this position is $68,000 - $110,000. The salary will vary primarily on candidate’s relevant experience, education, and professional designation. The salary may vary with location.
