Planning Coordinator
West Fraser offers a range of exciting career opportunities for individuals seeking challenging and rewarding careers. Our South Cariboo Woodlands division in BC is currently recruiting for a full-time Planning Coordinator in our Williams Lake office.
Planning Coordinator
Based in Williams Lake, and reporting to the Planning Superintendent, the Planning Coordinator will work within a team of forest professionals responsible for all timber development activities. Within this role, there is opportunity to enjoy a balanced mix of field and office work while living in the Williams Lake area.
You'll Do:
- Timber reconnaissance, road and cutblock design
- Cutting permit and road permit development, appraisal submissions
- Contract administration and supervision
- Liaise with First Nations, government and the public
- Incorporation of wildlife, social and cultural values into harvest area designs
- Development of site plans and other operational plans
You have:
- A registered Forest Professional (RPF or RFT) or eligibility for registration with Forest Professionals BC
- Demonstrated commitment to safety and responsible forest stewardship
- A current class 5 driver’s license
- >2 years of relevant experience in planning activities such as block and road layout, site plan, cutting permit and appraisal preparation is preferred
- Strong interpersonal, analytical, and organizational skills
- A positive attitude with the ability to work both independently and collaboratively within a team environment
What We Offer:
- Competitive base salary with an annual bonus opportunity. The typical salary range for this position is $80,000, and $111,000, may vary depending on education and relevant experience.
