Payroll Controller

Location: Cowie, Stirling

We’re excited to offer an opportunity for a Payroll Controller to join our team on a permanent basis.

You’ll own the end-to-end payroll process, working closely with Finance, HR and operations to keep everything running smoothly. With a focus on quality and improvement, you’ll play a key role in evolving payroll to support the needs of the business.

What you’ll be doing:

  • Own and deliver accurate, timely end-to-end payroll for UK employees
  • Process payroll inputs including starters, leavers, overtime, bonuses and statutory payments
  • Ensure full compliance with UK payroll legislation and HMRC requirements (FPS, EPS, auto enrolment)
  • Perform payroll reconciliations and support finance with month-end reporting and journals
  • Manage payroll controls, audits and SOX compliance
  • Lead continuous improvement of payroll systems, processes and reporting
  • Produce payroll reporting and maintain data accuracy and confidentiality
  • Act as the primary payroll contact and subject matter expert across the business
  • You’ll play a vital role in ensuring accurate, timely financial operations and helping maintain a high standard of service.

What we’re looking for:

  • Proven experience managing end-to-end payroll
  • Strong knowledge of UK payroll legislation and HMRC requirements
  • Excellent Excel and systems skills with a focus on data accuracy
  • High attention to detail with ability to meet deadlines
  • Strong communication skills with confidence to work across teams
  • Proactive, solutions-focused and able to drive improvements

Experience in a manufacturing environment and knowledge of Resourcelink or UKG systems is desirable.

The role is based on a manufacturing site and requires compliance with site safety rules and the wearing of appropriate PPE (training provided). Some flexibility may be required to meet business needs.
