As the Industrial Mechanic (Millwright), you will be a key player in our continuous maintenance improvement program through daily troubleshooting and preventative maintenance strategies. The position will work up to a shift millwright, with the ability to troubleshoot and repair production equipment and maintain uptime in the facilities during production shifts. 

You'll Do:

  • Work safely using established SOPs, using all appropriate PPE, following all lockouts and established policies / procedures, and completing FLHRA’s (Field Level Hazard Risk Assessment).
  • Preventative maintenance and repair of conveyors, various belt and chain transfer and drive systems, sawing, debarking, sorting, stacking, and compressors. Maintenance of pumps, compressors, mechanical systems, rollers & chains, bearings, and hydraulics involved in the manufacturing process.
  • Operate hoisting and lifting devices to position machinery and parts during the assembly, installation, set-up and repair of equipment and machinery.
  • Work in man-lifts with the use of fall protection equipment.
  • Repair and assemble hydraulic equipment and cylinders
  • Work positively in a team environment.
  • Undertaking preventative maintenance program for equipment
  • Read blueprints, diagrams, and schematic drawings to repair equipment.
  • Inspect and examine machinery, equipment, and repair as required.
  • Verify and document repairs made
  • Use knowledge and skills to recognize opportunities for improvements and savings

     

    You have:

    • A valid Inter-Provincial or Provincial Journeyperson Millwright Certification
    • Ability to read blueprints, plans and schematics
    • Mechanical aptitude; excellent problem-solving skills
    • Commitment to working safely and creating a safe workplace
    • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
    • Ability to work independently with little supervision
    • Organizational and planning skills
    • Flexible schedule to workday, evening, weekend and graveyard shifts

       

       Considered a strong asset:

      • Previous experience working in a sawmill or planer mill
      • A Red Seal Certificate
      • A Welding Certificate
      • Knowledge of hydraulics
