Maintenance Superintendent

West Fraser offers a range of exciting career opportunities for individuals seeking challenging and rewarding careers. Our Cochrane division, in Cochrane, Alberta, is currently recruiting for a Maintenance Superintendent.

Reporting to the General Manager, this position is an advanced-level position and part of the West Fraser leadership team. In addition, you will also be responsible for high-level supervision of the electrical, oiler, sawfiling, reliability, millwright, and cleanup crews. This position requires a strong maintenance background and proven supervisory, leadership, and safety skills.

You'll do :

• Strong commitment to safety
• Provide leadership for the Maintenance department by being a role model in all areas, including safety, working relationships, quality, and training
• Utilize an established performance management system to develop direct reports in the best interest of West Fraser (costs, overtime, absenteeism, employee performance)
• Improve uptime by identifying and managing downtime.
• Provide maintenance supervisors & planners with the tools and manpower to keep their area’s equipment reliable
• Develop, implement, monitor, and report on systems for personnel development, system design, cost control, and equipment availability

You have:

• Tradesperson with ten years of maintenance experience
• Must possess knowledge of the maintenance management system
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
• Organized and accountable
• Financial planning & budgeting experience
