Head Electrician

Reporting to the Maintenance Superintendent, a Head Electrician  will be instrumental in the continuing development and modernization of our operation. As a member of this high-performing team, you will be responsible for managing an electrical team as well as all electrical equipment.

You'll do:

  • Maintain a safe work environment
  • Ensure consistent operations of all electrical equipment
  • Verification and documentation of repairs
  • Working with Team Members - ensure a safe work environment by coaching safe work practices, participating in safety observations & incident reviews, training & development and enforcing safety expectations.
  • Build your team with relationships based upon trust, caring and integrity and assist with career development of Team Members.
  • Work collaboratively with operations, project development & planning, quality and procurement Teams to effectively maintain mill equipment.
  • Participate in full-cycle process of identifying, planning, installing and reviewing capital projects and equipment maintenance.
  • Work with reliability & maintenance planning to coordinate preventative & predictive maintenance programs to achieve uptime targets.
  • Responding to changing priorities and operating conditions to meet business needs
  • Develop, implement and maintain maintenance team schedules and detailed maintenance planning schedules that drive continuous improvement and support all elements of plant electrical functions

You have: 

  • Several years of experience as an Electrician
  • Experience managing people
  • A valid Journeyperson or Inter-Provincial Certification is required
  • Mechanical, Hydraulic and Pneumatic knowledge and aptitude
  • Experience in an industrial environment with VFDs, PLCs, MCCs, HMIs
  • Experience with Delta RMC motion control
  • Experience with and strong Control Logix programming and troubleshooting skills
  • Strong organizational and communication skills
  • Excellent interpersonal and team-building skills
  • Demonstrated problem solving, troubleshooting and analytical skills

  • The salary compensation for this position may vary depending on experience, education, and location.
