GIS Analyst
West Fraser offers a range of exciting career opportunities for individuals seeking challenging and rewarding careers. West Fraser's Pacific Inland Resources Division, in Smithers, BC is currently recruiting for a GIS Analyst.
You'll Do:
- Maintenance & quality control of spatial data in The Land Resource Manager (LRM) for the Woodlands Department
- Prepare & submit digital data to government to provided standards
- Work with Woodlands team on mapping, reporting, and analytical projects
- Support Woodlands team with LRM and GIS tasks
- Work with other licensees and consultants to ensure data exchange standards are maintained
You have:
- Graduation from an accredited post-secondary GIS program or Forestry program
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Be a dynamic, career-minded individual.
- Strong analytic and project management skills
- Be highly motivated with proven organizational skills.
- Experience using ESRI Products (ArcGIS Pro, ArcSDE and ArcGIS Online/Enterprise) and FME
- Knowledge of RDBMS, SQL, in particular Oracle database
- Experience with programming and/or scripting languages such as C#, Python, or Arcade
Considered an Asset:
- Preference will be given to candidates with 3-5 years or greater of related experience.
- Forestry or other natural resource management experience.
- Familiarity with data management systems such as the Land Resource Manager (LRM).
What We Offer:
- Competitive base salary with an annual bonus opportunity. The typical salary range for this position is $70,000 - $83,000, which may vary depending on education and relevant experience.
