Certified Electrician-Blue Ridge Lumber
West Fraser offers a range of exciting career opportunities for individuals seeking challenging and rewarding careers. Blue Ridge Lumber is currently recruiting for a Certified Electrician position.
Reporting to the Electrical supervisor, you would be a key player in the company-wide safety culture, continuous improvement effort through daily use of troubleshooting, predictive, PDM, and preventive maintenance strategies.
You'll do:
- Maintain a safe work environment
- Be responsible for your own personal safety
- Ensure consistent operations of all electrical equipment at the complex
- Verify and document repairs, via computer-based software
- Monitor product quality and provide feedback
- Ability to read Programmable Logic Controller (PLC) programming, Schneider’s suite of controllers
- Preventative maintenance with small construction projects
- Troubleshooting various pieces of equipment, with other trades
You have:
- Several years of experience as an Electrician
- Experience in instrumentation
- Candidates require Alberta Electrical trade qualifications or Electrical Red Seal Certificate
- Strong organizational and communication skills
- Excellent interpersonal and team building skills
- Demonstrated problem solving, troubleshooting and analytical skills
- Allen Bradley PLC with Control Net and Device Net is an asset
- Weekend and/or shift work will be required
Considered a strong asset:
- Previous experience working in an industrial environment
Compensation Package:
- The hourly pay rate for this position may vary depending on experience, education, and location.

Blue Ridge is located near the growing, family-friendly community of Whitecourt, Alberta, and is a short one and half hour drive from Edmonton. Our mill and forest operations form an integral part of the community, providing economic stability to employees and families that live in the Whitecourt, Mayerthorpe and Blue Ridge areas.
