Accounts Payable / Administrative Assistant

Reporting to Human Resources, the Accounts Payable / Administrative Assistant is vital member of the Finance Team and provides support to HR / Payroll / Benefits and other administrative functions.
You'll Do:
- Process vendor invoices accurately and in a timely manner for goods, services, and utilities, ensuring invoice validity, three-way matching, and optimization of available purchase discounts.
- Ensure all accounts payable activities are completed in compliance with company policies, procedures, and internal controls.
- Coordinate & monitor invoice approvals through established workflow processes.
- Reconcile vendor statements & investigate discrepancies to ensure accurate account balances.
- Maintain positive & professional relationships with vendors & external stakeholders.
- Respond to & resolve vendor inquiries in a timely and customer-focused manner.
- Code accounts payable invoices and enter transactions into the purchasing and accounting software systems.
- Establish & maintain vendor records for GP OSB Mill & AB Woodlands.
- Prepare account analyses, reports, and supporting documentation as required.
- Assist with month-end and year-end accounts payable processes and reporting requirements.
- Support continuous improvement initiatives to enhance the efficiency and effectiveness of accounts payable processes.
- Administrative Assistant functions are quite varied supporting mill-wide needs
- Tasks include, but not limited to, providing backup to payroll processing and benefit administration, maintaining office supplies, facilitating document management and being site contact to support Team Members finding solutions.
You have:
- Ideal candidate will have minimum 2 years of relevant experience in an Accounts Payable position with post-secondary education in accounting or administration
- Enhanced computer skills & solid experience with MS Office Suite, especially with Excel, Word, and Outlook, and the ability to quickly learn new software programs.
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy
- Excellent organizational and time management skills
- Engaging communication / interpersonal skills with high energy & positive outlook
- Problem-solving and analytical abilities with unwavering degree of integrity
- Self-starter approach with the initiative to learn and take ownership of various projects / initiatives

Your Workplace Location:
West Fraser Grande Prairie OSB is located about 10 minutes south of the city.
Although our facility operates 24 / 7 / 365, this position has a schedule that is primarily Monday to Friday, 40 hours weekly working in an office environment.
Grande Prairie, Alberta has a growing population of over 70 000 and is less than 5 hours northwest of Edmonton in the “Peace Country Region”.
