Supply Chain Specialist
Working within the Corporate Supply Chain Team, you will collaborate with colleagues across departments, vendors, and our manufacturing facilities to support procurement and supply chain initiatives critical to our business needs. The individual will be customer-focused, detail-oriented, and a problem solver who will apply their analytic skills to seek continuous improvement. The successful candidate will possess a demonstrated ability to work both independently and in a high-functioning team environment.
Responsibilities:
Cost Savings and Value Optimization
- Contribute to cost savings initiatives through procurement process improvements and coordination of purchasing activities.
- Identify opportunities for quality improvement and cost reduction within key spend categories such as MRO (maintenance, repair, and operations) and production materials.
Cross-Functional Collaboration
- Work with internal departments to build systems and processes that streamline procurement workflows.
- Provide support in addressing procurement-related challenges, facilitating alignment between vendor capabilities and operational requirements.
Continuous Improvement and Data-Driven Decision Making
- Participate in special projects focused on improving procurement practices through data collection, performance tracking, and reporting.
- Maintain updated vendor performance metrics and collaborate in ongoing continuous improvement efforts.
- Using data analytics, establish and report on metrics to create, measure and manage KPI’s for vendors.
Corporate Support and Maximo Leadership
- Corporate Support for Facility-Level Purchasers: Serve as the primary corporate resource and support contact for purchasers and procurement teams at the facility level, providing guidance, mentoring, standardized tools, and best practice recommendations.
- US Corporate Lead for our ERP System - Maximo: Lead, coordinate, and provide expertise for updates and usage of the procurement functions within Maximo across the lumber segment in the United States, collaborating with facility stakeholders and other corporate departments to ensure consistent application, provide training, and monitor adoption for continuous improvement.
Vendor Relationship Support
- Support and maintain collaborative relationships with a diverse range of vendors to ensure alignment with operational needs.
- Partner with operations and team members to identify vendor performance improvement opportunities and facilitate communication between stakeholders.
Contract and Spend Analysis
- Assist in the analysis of spending patterns and vendor performance to identify opportunities for value creation.
- Support the development and execution of vendor contracts, ensuring they meet operational and strategic goals.
Corporate Purchasing
- Assist with corporate purchasing through requisitions and PO creation and management.
- Provide backup support for other corporate procurement duties.
Skills and education you should have:
- The preferred candidate will have a bachelor’s degree in Operations Management, Supply Chain, Procurement, Forestry, Business or another relevant area, and 5 or more years of experience in a supply chain or procurement role, an operational role or sourcing in a manufacturing environment.
- Supply Chain Management Professional designation or ability to obtain a designation preferred.

- Change Management: Successful track record of implementing programs across multiple sites with diverse interests.
- Industry Knowledge: Understanding of forestry manufacturing facilities.
