Supply Chain Manager
Working within the Corporate Supply Chain Team, your experience and expertise will assist you playing a senior role in collaborating with colleagues across departments, vendors, and our manufacturing facilities to support procurement and supply chain initiatives critical to our business needs. The individual will be customer-focused, detail-oriented, and a problem solver who will apply their analytic skills to lead initiatives and seek continuous improvement. The successful candidate will possess a demonstrated ability to work both independently and in a high-functioning team environment and will have a proven track record of effectively communicating throughout all levels of an organization.
Responsibilities:
Cost Savings and Value Optimization
- Lead and coordinate cost-savings projects for key spend categories such as MRO and production materials, contributing ideas and executing plans to reduce costs while optimizing quality.
- Identify and recommend practical improvements to procurement processes, leveraging market data and internal analysis to support value-driven sourcing decisions.
- Track cost savings and quality improvement targets for owned categories, reporting out results and progress.
Cross-Functional Collaboration
- Collaborate with departments such as operations, finance, and IT to refine procurement workflows and support system improvements.
- Participate in multi-disciplinary teams to solve procurement-related challenges, ensuring departmental needs are understood and addressed.
- Advocate for and model procurement best practices, training peer staff on updated procedures.
- Drive inventory optimization initiatives through the identification of opportunities for vendor managed inventory, consignment and committed inventory programs.
- Provide guidance and training to our operations on the agreements to ensure compliance with corporate policies and controls.
Continuous Improvement and Data-Driven Decision Making
- Help maintain and improve vendor performance metrics, providing recommendations for process adjustments based on findings.
- Develop and maintain KPIs for procurement activities and vendor performance, contributing insights through regular reporting.
Vendor Relationship Support
- Build and sustain professional relationships with key suppliers, ensuring clear communication and alignment with organizational goals.
- Participate in supplier evaluation and improvement initiatives, providing input and helping negotiate solutions to performance issues.
- Support periodic supplier business reviews, gathering data and preparing reports for leadership.
Contract and Spend Analysis
- Analyze organizational and category-level spend data to identify cost reduction and value creation opportunities.
- Assist in contract drafting, negotiations, and monitoring compliance for assigned vendors or spending areas.
- Support contract lifecycle management by ensuring documentation accuracy and tracking renewal dates or audit requirements.
Skills and education you should have:
- The preferred candidate will have a bachelor’s degree in operations management, Supply Chain, Procurement, Forestry, Business or another relevant area, and 5 or more years of experience in a supply chain or procurement role, an operational role or sourcing in a manufacturing environment.
- Supply Chain Management Professional designation or ability to obtain a designation preferred.
