Senior IT Project Manager
The Senior Project Manager is responsible for leading teams to deliver project(s) that span across one or more business units. Manage resources, schedules, financials and adhere to project management and SOX governance and controls. This also includes management of issues, risks and project change requests to ensure successful and on-time project delivery. Contribute to process improvement initiatives as it relates to improving project delivery.
The Senior Project Manager has the authority to run the project on a day-to-day basis. Verify that the project produces the required deliverables of quality, within the specified constraints of time and cost and to achieve the benefits defined in the business case.
You'll Do:
- Create project charters and all corresponding project management artifacts from initiation to closure. This would include defining scope, deliverables to support business objectives.
- Develop detailed project plans including: project roadmap, timelines and milestones, resourcing plans, change management needs, budgets, dependencies, identify project risks and mitigation strategies
- Manage teams through all phases of cycle development, including analysis, project design and development, testing periods, installation and final delivery
- Track key project milestones, ensure proper financial and risk management of the project, identify and manage project resources and availability. If needed and adjust project plans and/or resources.
- Manage teamwork assignments direct and monitor work efforts, identify resource needs, perform quality review; and escalate functional, quality and timeline issues appropriately. See that project task, issue and risk registries are tracked and maintained.
- Bridge the gap between the technical solution and the business users during functional and user acceptance testing
- Negotiate with department managers for the acquisition of required personnel to work on the project and where necessary, determine and assess need for additional staff and/or consultants.
- Effectively communicate project expectations to team members and stakeholders in a timely and clear fashion. Provide regular project updates to project champion and steering committee.
- Coordinate and communicate with all areas of the organization that are impacted by the scope, budget, risk and resources of the work effort being managed.
- Assist IT leadership in partnering with senior business management to identify and prioritize opportunities for utilizing IT to achieve the goals of the organization.
- Identify and resolve conflicts within the project team.
- Conduct project reviews to identify successful and unsuccessful project elements and create recommendations for improvement.
- Coach, mentor, motivate and supervise project team members and contractors, and influence them to take positive actions and accountability for their assigned work
- Assist IT and PMO leadership in developing and improving project management processes and capacity across the organization
You have:
- University Degree or college diploma in Information Technology, Engineering, Finance or related field
- Project Management Institute PMP certification or successful completion of a recognized project management curriculum
- 6+ years’ experience as an IT professional
- 6+ years project management experience
- 2+ years’ supervisory experience in an IT Department
- Demonstrated experience in successfully delivering large scale I.T. projects (i.e. ERP systems) which span multiple business units and departments
- Experience with CMMS, Oracle JDE, ERP systems would be considered an asset
- Experience in a multi-site manufacturing organization is required

- Competitive base salary with an annual bonus opportunity. The typical salary range for this position is $100,000 - $120,000, may vary depending on location, education, and relevant experience.
