Reporting to the Maintenance Team Leader, the Certified Machinist - Millwright is responsible to safely make parts to exacting standards ensuring quality and precision.
You'll Do:
- Demonstrate unwavering commitment towards completing all tasks safely
- Read & interpret blueprints and perform precise machining operations
- Fabricate & repair parts using lathe, milling machine, drill press, and other shop equipment to exacting standards and tight tolerances by verifying dimensions using precision measuring instruments
- Inspect & test completed projects to ensure meeting accuracy & quality standards
- Trouble shoot & problem solve items impacting process equipment
- Active involvement with predictive & preventative maintenance
- Effectively complete safety and mechanical inspections
- Utilize your knowledge & skill to recognize opportunities for improvement
- Collaborate with other trades in a team environment to improve safety, reliability and process efficiency
You have:
- Machinist and Millwright Certifications
- 3+ Years of experience in an industrial / manufacturing environment using machining equipment
- Knowledge of metal properties, machining methods, and shop mathematics; numerical ability to compute dimensions; tapers, cutting angles, tool settings, feed rates and machine speeds
- Organizational and planning skills to prioritize daily / weekly tasks
- Solid communication and interpersonal skills to support effective team dynamics
- Ability to safely work independently with limited supervision while also being part of the bigger team

Workplace Location:
- This position will be located at our West Fraser Grande Prairie, Alberta OSB facility
- The Certified Machinist - Millwright must be capable of working in an OSB manufacturing environment that includes exposure to noise, temperature variances, heights, stairways and grated elevated walkways, confined spaces, odors and the physical ability to travel through our industrial facility and lift / carry reasonable weights.
- Although the work schedule is primarily Monday to Friday, flexibility is required to support our 24/7/365 manufacturing facility.
