Linux Administrator

In this critical role, you will be instrumental in developing, optimizing, and supporting our enterprise-wide Linux server infrastructure. The ideal candidate combines technical expertise, strong problem-solving abilities, and a proactive approach to system administration. This job can be located in Quesnel, Vancouver or Memphis. 

You'll do: 

• Design, implement, and maintain robust Linux server environments across the organization
• Enhance system security posture through regular audits, patch management, and hardening practices
• Optimize server performance, reliability, and scalability to meet business requirements
• Proactively monitor systems and respond to alerts, preventing potential issues before they impact operations
• Collaborate with cross-functional IT teams to support back-end infrastructure initiatives
• Create and maintain comprehensive documentation for system configurations and operational procedures
• Provide technical leadership and support to junior team members and other departments

You have:

• Advanced experience with Red Hat Enterprise Linux, Oracle Linux, HP-UX, and CentOS
• Proficient in Red Hat OpenShift and container orchestration
• Skilled in Bash, Python, Ansible, and Terraform
• Experience with CUPS (Common Unix Printing System)
• Strong background in vulnerability remediation, security audits, and responding to penetration tests
• Proven ability to design, implement, test, and troubleshoot complex Linux systems
• Experience with VMware virtualization technologies
• Familiar with CVS and SVN version control systems
• Working knowledge of Azure, AWS, and GCP
• Exposure to DevOps tools and methodologies
• Post-secondary education in IT, Computer Science, Engineering, or equivalent practical experience
• 5+ years in enterprise Linux administration
• Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills
• Strong written and verbal communication
• Collaborative and effective in team environments
