Indirect Tax Analyst
The primary responsibility of this position is to take ownership of the preparation of sales and use tax compliance and assist with other indirect tax priorities for the US operations.
What You Will Do:
- Prepare the monthly, quarterly, semi-annual and annual sales and use tax returns and coordinate payment submissions
- Prepare monthly balance sheet reconciliations for the sales and use tax accounts
- Assist with preparation of data for annual property tax return filings
- Implement process improvement of the compliance function
- Develop analytical procedures to provide better analysis to the finance team
- Become familiar with tax rules and manufacturing exemptions for states of operation
- Build technical expertise through research platforms, training seminars, etc. and disseminate to key team members
- Engage in tax savings and refund opportunities
- Assist with sales and use tax audit examinations
- Maintain compliance with internal controls, policies, and procedures
- Special projects and other duties as assigned
What You Will Need:
- Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university in Accounting/Finance/Business
- Minimum 1-year sales and use tax compliance experience and/or corporate accounting experience
- Other direct or indirect tax experience is an asset
- Experience with Oracle EBS is an asset
- Experience with tax applications such as OneSource, Vertex, Avalara is an asset
