Electrical & Instrumentation Supervisor

Reporting to the Maintenance Superintendent, this role provides technical direction and frontline leadership to our E&I crew, ensuring safe, reliable, and efficient operation of all electrical and instrumentation systems across the facility. This is a key position that supports plant uptime, continuous improvement, and long-term asset health.

You'll do:

• Champion a safe work environment by enforcing safe work practices, supporting company policies, conducting incident investigations, and ensuring proper training and adherence to electrical and instrumentation standards.
• Provide day to day leadership, coaching, and mentorship to the electrical and instrumentation team, fostering a high performance, collaborative culture.
• Work closely with Production, Technical, and Purchasing teams to maintain equipment reliability and support operational targets.
• Plan, schedule, and supervise E&I work activities, including work orders, priority setting, shutdown coordination, and emergency breakdown response.
• Lead and support major maintenance projects, including electrical and instrumentation components of capital upgrades.
• Collaborate with reliability personnel to develop and execute preventative and predictive maintenance programs.
• Oversee instrumentation systems including sensors, analyzers, control loops, calibrations, and documentation.
• Manage electrical and instrumentation budgets, monitor maintenance costs, and contribute to capital planning.
• Drive continuous improvement initiatives focused on equipment reliability, system optimization, and maintenance best practices.

You have: 

• A Journeyperson Electrician or Instrumentation Technician trade certificate (Red Seal preferred) or an Electrical Engineering Degree with manufacturing experience.
• Strong technical background in both electrical and instrumentation systems within an industrial or manufacturing environment.
• Proven troubleshooting and decision-making skills, with the ability to lead effectively in a fast-paced setting.
• 5–8 years of industrial E&I experience; experience in wood products or heavy manufacturing is an asset.
• Strong communication skills with the ability to mentor, motivate, and develop team members.
• Experience with PLCs, VFDs, MCCs, HMIs, instrumentation loops, and industrial control systems.
• Solid organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities and coordinate complex work activities.
• Proficiency with MS Office and CMMS systems (Maximo experience would be an asset)
