At West Fraser, our Area Production Lead reports directly to the Area Manager and is responsible for ½ of the mill's production process, as it is split between inside and outside. • Contribute to and lead a culture of quality, driving continuous improvement by regularly identifying and addressing opportunities.
  • Maintain production by communicating expectations, monitoring processes, observing control points and equipment, establishing priorities, and reporting results to the Area Manager.
  • Work closely with facility maintenance and engineering personnel to identify potential problems, streamline processes, and implement improvement suggestions and activities.
  • Manage teams by delegating daily tasks and assisting in the development of programs.
  • Assist in the training and development of team members by assessing opportunities and skills using the Allendale Pay for Skills program.
  • Fill in for skilled positions and provide supervisory coverage on shift as needed.
  • Other tasks assigned by leadership.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Have the desire and ability to develop into our next shift supervisor.
  • Possess a minimum of 2 years of OSB manufacturing experience.
  • Successful completion of multiple skill trainings within the Allendale Pay for Skills program, with the ability to train in those roles.
  • Ability to work a flexible schedule and provide shift coverage when necessary.
  • Experienced working in a 24/7/365, continuous production environment.
  • Solid understanding of industrial manufacturing environments, specifically safety, quality, and production.
