Activities

This campground has equestrian facilities, so it is a popular place for people camping or staging with horses. Many people use this campground as a staging area for access into the adjacent Wilmore Wilderness Park for both hiking, hunting, and horseback riding. There are several maintained hiking trails within the campground and also a playground on the Green Mountain Loop. Rock Lakes provides fishing opportunities for lake trout and northern pike.

How to Get Here

From the west end of Hinton travel east for approximately six kilometres and then turn north onto Highway 40. Follow Highway 40 for approximately 45 kilometres until a road is encountered on the left (west) side of the Highway called the Rock Lake Road (well signed). Follow this road, keeping to the main road for approximately 31 kilometres - it ends at the Rock Lake campground. There are occasionally logging trucks and other large vehicles using portions of the Rock Lake Road - drive with extreme caution.
