Public policy and legislation can have a significant impact on our business. Many public policy issues, including forest management and environmental regulations, carbon policy and climate change, taxation, and trade policy are discussed in our 2016 Annual Report, pages 9-14, & 38-42 and the 2017 Annual Report, pages 12-22 & 59–68.
Beyond government policymakers and public officials, we engage with a broad cross-sector of stakeholders including trade, forestry and business associations, customers, suppliers, employees, Indigenous Peoples, local communities and non-governmental organizations on public policy issues related to our business and the forestry sector through our fibre procurement and forest management planning activities.
