Our strategic focus is to recover the maximum lumber from every log. We aim to utilize the co-products created in the manufacture of solid wood to produce pulp, composite wood products and new types of wood-based bioproducts.
Ongoing innovative areas of research have resulted in the development of Canada's first commercial-scale lignin recovery plant operating at our Hinton pulp mill. We continue to investigate new methods of using wood byproducts. We are currently exploring a variety of alternative uses for our residuals and co-products of our operations, such as Amallin lignin and cellulose biocomposites like Propel.
