West Fraser has signed on to the Forest Products Association of Canada's (FPAC) “30 by 30” Climate Change Challenge, pledging to contribute to an industry-wide effort to help Canada move to a low-carbon economy by removing 30 megatonnes (MT) of CO2 per year by 2030 — more than 13% of the Canadian government’s emissions target.
Our business uses a renewable, natural resource and our environmental stewardship is incorporated into the jobs we do every day. The forest industry is uniquely positioned to be part of the solution to climate change and the transition to a low carbon economy.
The forest industry is the first Canadian industry to to unveil how it can help Canada reach its emissions reduction target.
