The grand opening of the newly-renovated Sam Ketcham Pool took place on December 14, 2017 at the West Fraser Aquatics Centre in Williams Lake, BC. The new pool area now includes a fitness centre, lap tank, swirl pool, steam room and leisure pool that features a waterslide, lazy river, tots area, kiddie car wash, teacup fountain, bubble pit, vortex and massage chairs. So many fun activities to enjoy!

"I took my grandkids over the Christmas period and I saw employees from the mills there with their families and the community,” said David Walgren, General Manager of Williams Lake Plywood. “Our mills have been successful because we have good employees. They choose to live and raise their families here because of what Williams Lake has to offer: good employment and great community amenities. We are pleased to be a part of the Sam Ketcham Pool renovation and contribute to making this community a great place to live and work."

West Fraser contributed $500,000 to the most recent renovation of the upgrade pool and aquatic comples. The Sam Ketcham Memorial Pool was originally constructed as a living legacy to the late first president and co- founder of West Fraser, Sam Ketcham. It remains as important part of the fabric of Williams Lake as it was when it opened in 1980.
