As previously announced, Ray Ferris has assumed the role of President and CEO of West Fraser as of July 1, 2019.
West Fraser Chairman and former CEO Hank Ketcham welcomes Ray to his new role. “Ray brings a lifetime of experience in the forest sector and two decades of leadership at West Fraser to this new role. Ray worked closely with Ted Seraphim for many years and has demonstrated tremendous leadership in executing our operating and capital plans.”
Ted Seraphim, who retired from the CEO’s role in June 2019, added: “Ray’s leadership, experience and proven commitment to people, safety, and operational excellence a will continue to drive our Company forward. I know that I speak on behalf of all our employees in saying how pleased we are that Ray is our next CEO.”
Ray previously served in several executive positions for the Company, including Executive Vice-President and COO, Vice-President, Wood Products, Vice-President, Solid Wood, and Vice-President, Lumber Operations.
Hank Ketcham also thanked Ted for his leadership and wished him all the best in his retirement. “Ted lives the West Fraser values. He has been a great leader of our Company, and he’s built it into one of the largest and strongest forest products companies in North America.”
The values that have spurred the company’s success since its’ founding continue to be a focus of Ray Ferris’ leadership approach.
