Our North Central Woodlands Team, located near the towns of Slave Lake and High Prairie, Alberta, has an opportunity for a highly motivated professional forester for the following role:


Based out of Slave Lake and reporting to the Planning Superintendent, the Planning Forester will take primary responsibility for the development and submission of all annual plans required to operate on company tenures. Your duties will include timber and access reconnaissance, field layout, supervision of contract layout, liaison with government, First Nations, Trappers, oil and gas operators and other stakeholders.  Other duties may include DFMP planning, assisting with harvest supervision, and silviculture projects. This position offers a balanced mix of field and office work, while being home every night.

Candidates for this position should be registered as Forest Practitioner in Alberta as an RPF or RFT. Current planning experience would be an asset. Candidates with other forestry experience with a desire to expand their career as an operational planner will also be considered.
