The Fibre Supply Coordinator works in a fast-paced and dynamic environment that stretches over all segments of West Fraser’s integrated business to meet the goals and objectives related to residual fibre; including production, forecasting, administration, quality assurance, continuous improvement, freight and logistics.      

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Work with internal and third party suppliers to manage forecasts, inventories, quality, and handling of all residual fibre
  • Work with transportation companies to ensure the safe, efficient, consistent and reliable transportation of residual fibre
  • Develop and maintain a good working knowledge of the production of chips and residual fibre during manufacturing, and implement quality control programs
  • Work with the Woodlands Group to maximize the use of non-sawlog fibre
  • Develop a knowledge of fibre movement, availability and requirements in BC
  • Develop a good working relationship with West Fraser management at all divisions
  • Develop and maintain good working relationships with third party fibre consumers, suppliers and transportation companies

The ideal candidate will possess:

  • Post-secondary education in one of the following disciplines: Forestry, Wood Science, Accounting, Business or a related field
  • A minimum of 3 to 5 years experience, preferably in the forestry or manufacturing environment
  • Strong organizational skills that allows the candidate to succeed in a fast-paced and dynamic environment
  • A detailed and proactive approach to work, and the ability to prioritize and manage multiple projects at one time
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills
  • Excellent analytical and problem solving skills
