Search Tips
Searching with less words will often yield a greater result set.
General
queries will garner more results (which may seem daunting at first); but on the other hand, you might miss something important by being too
specific
.
Multi-word searches operate as
"AND"
type queries. This means that if you enter "Pine Beetle" into a search textbox (omitting the quotes) you will actually be searching for all documents that contain the words "Pine" AND "Beetle" - but not necessarily right next to each other. To search for the words in sequence, you must place the phrase into quotes (
"Pine Beetle"
) and then the space between the words will be treated as part of the overall search expression, instead of a logical
"AND"
operator.
