Public Involvement

West Fraser collaborates with and invites input from communities, regions, governments and other forest stakeholders in developing comprehensive and sustainable forest management plans.

Public involvement in forest planning is an integral part of our process. In particular, communities local to our operations are very much involved in defining what happens in the forests where they live, work and play. Sustainable forestry management can mean something different to each community and ecosystem. Dialogue about forest planning is an integral part of our forest management planning process.

Forestry planning cycles as well as regular forest operations activities provide opportunities for public engagement, such as public events and open houses, regional planning activities and ongoing regional advisory committee work.

If you would like to share your interests or concerns about one of our operations, or to highlight your interest in one of our forest management areas, please contact us at trees@westfraser.com.
