Pete Ketcham Memorial Scholarship Fund

The late Pete Ketcham, one of West Fraser Timber’s three founding brothers, and until his passing in July, 1996, the company’s Chairman, championed West Fraser’s support of post secondary educational institutions. He was especially supportive of and pleased with the opening of the University of the North as it allows students from Northern British Columbia to attend school closer to home. Pete felt this would lead to greater opportunities for students from communities in which West Fraser has operations.

The Pete Ketcham Memorial Scholarship Fund was initiated by West Fraser and many of its employees, suppliers and friends. Donations are tax deductible and can be made to:

The Pete Ketcham Memorial Scholarship Fund
c/o The Vancouver Foundation
suite 1200, 555 West Hastings Street
Vancouver, BC, V6B 4N6.

Applications are now available at all offices of West Fraser companies for bursaries that will be distributed in the Fall of each year.

While open to any student, preference may be given first to students graduating from a school located in a community in which the company operates and secondly, to students who have a relative employed by the company.
