Slave Lake Pulp

In 1991, Slave Lake Pulp began producing high quality BCTMP for use in printing and writing papers, board and selective tissue applications. The surrounding forests provide hardwood and softwood which sustain the mills 210,000 ADMT annual capacity. Slave Lake Pulp is a significant economic contributor to the region employing 97 people directly and another 65 woodlands contract workers.

Safety has top priority at Slave Lake Pulp. Our belief is that all accidents are preventable and we are guided by three basic premises:

1) No work we do is worth getting hurt for.
2) We can manage safety to create a safe and healthy work environment.
3) We are responsible for our own and others safety.

The Slave Lake Pulp Health and Safety Program follows the Alberta Forest Products Association protocol and is audited annually. All employees are active participants in the program through their involvement in numerous committees and team meetings.
