Quesnel River Pulp (QRP) was built in 1981,
the mill was expanded in 1984 and again in 1988. Daily
production averages about 900 metric tons of pulp, which
is derived from refining wood chips and bleaching the
resulting pulp, in a TCF process, to desired customer
specifications. The mill runs 364 days per year, 24 hours
per day and employs 132 employees.
The key to our success is our employees, who make Quesnel
River Pulp a safe, viable operation and whose drive and
initiative ensures that the company will prosper in the
21st century. Our employees are active in all aspects
of the community from coaching of kids' sports to participation
in service organizations.
Quality pulp produced by QRP is used throughout the world in the manufacture of printing and writing papers, FBB, MPP and tissue/towel. We were the first company in North America to hold all three registrations: OHSAS 18001, ISO 14001, and ISO 9002.
