West Fraser Timber produces and markets pulp from two high-yield Bleached Chemi-Thermo-Mechanical Pulp (BCTMP) mills in Western Canada. Slave Lake Pulp is located in Slave Lake, Alberta. Quesnel River Pulp (QRP) is located in Quesnel, British Columbia.
Slave Lake Pulp produces approximately 220,000 tonnes per year of BCTMP that is produced from aspen (hardwood) sold under the name brand Ranger. Ranger pulps are perfectly suited for uncoated and coated printing and writing papers, specialty papers, board, and selected tissue applications.
Quesnel River Pulp produces approximately 320,000 tonnes per year of softwood and hardwood BCTMP/TMP. Quesnel River Pulp produces pulp for printing and writing papers, specialty papers, folding boxboard, higher quality mechanical printing papers (MPP) and tissue & towel.
Through all production stages of our BCTMP and TMP, West Fraser employs advanced technology and manufacturing processes, while reducing environmental impact.
