West Fraser is one of the leading integrated forest products companies in North America. The Company produces lumber, wood chips, fibreboard, plywood, pulp, linerboard, kraft paper and newsprint at its mills throughout Alberta, British Columbia, and the southern United States.
RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE:
Maintenance - Work with senior maintenance employees on the root cause failure analysis, following an equipment failure or malfunction
Project Work - Work with various staff members to determine the nature of the problem, possible solutions, associated costs and benefits, and establish timelines.
Technical Troubleshooting – Work with the technical department to troubleshoot process problems, review history data, identify trends or significant events, develop actions plans, conduct trials, collect and analyze data, make recommendations and document findings
All positions are expected to participate in safety, production, maintenance and engineering programs as required.
Employment will range from 4 -12 months in length
QUALIFICATIONS:
First, second, third or fourth year engineering faculty co-op student – Prior co-op experience an asset – Must be available for the first week of January 2012 – Must have a valid drivers license – Must have strong communication skills; both written and verbal.
