Slave Lake Pulp, a Division of West Fraser Mills Ltd.,operates a state-of-the-art aspen-based BCTMP pulp mill and is accepting applications MILLWRIGHT.  Besides the skills outlined below, SLP requires an individual who is committed to their own & others’ health and safety.  A track record of being able to interact and fit the dynamics of the work group plus demonstrated ability to take action, are foremost characteristics.  Slave Lake Pulp provides a comprehensive benefits package.

Responsibilities include: Routine duties relating to the demand & preventative work order system, and involvement in shutdown planning.  Work schedule is 7am - 5:30pm 4days/wk.  Some shift work may be required.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • The ideal candidate will hold an Interprovincial Journeyman certificate and have experience troubleshooting and repairing rotating equipment.
  • 3rd & 4th year Apprentices welcome to apply.
  • Strong process background knowledge, experience with wood processing & BCTMP pulp mill equipment would be an asset.
  • Grade XII or GED w/ min. Level 20 Math & Physics (Level 30 preferred).
