| Power & Recovery Shift Supervisor |
Reporting to the Power & Recovery Operations Superintendent, the Power & Recovery Shift
Supervisor will play an integral part in the successful operations by leading the Power &
Recovery Crews and ensuring production optimization, quality control and equipment
maintenance. Duties will be varied and include all aspects of the Power & Recovery
Operations.
Specific duties will include:
- Directs the Power & Recovery Operations on a shift basis, to maintain maximum quality
production in a safe and efficient manner.
- Constantly seeks ways to control costs and improve efficiency within the mill while complying
with environmental regulations.
- Supervises shift crews in the application of approved procedures and policies within the
Power & Recovery Operations.
- Actively participates in the mill safety program as it applies to the Power & Recovery
Operations, and ensures that all employees follow safe practice in the performance of their
duties.
- Communicates with the Power & Recovery Area Maintenance to ensure that maintenance or
repair work is identified and carried out properly.
- Ensures the Power & Recovery Crews are adequately trained for the proper performance of
their duties and have a full understanding of their responsibilities. Identifies opportunities for
training to increase skill set of the team.
The ideal candidate will be evaluated on the following criteria:
- Supervisory experience with strong and effective communications and inter-personal skills
supported by a Second Class Engineering Certificate valid in British Columbia with experience
in the steam and recovery operation of a kraft pulp and paper mill.
- Computer literate and able to learn quickly and efficiently.
- Strong mechanical/process background with technical and trouble shooting skills.
- Organization and implementation of the department safety program.
- Interfaces with our area maintenance team and provides maintenance priorities.
- Ability to organize, direct and report on crew and departmental activities.
